We are Authors!

We finished our first writing unit of study last week.  Students chose a piece to take through the writing process and to publish.  I helped type up their books and students picked out word art for their cover and some clip art.  They were so proud of their published pieces!!

We celebrated on Friday, by presenting their writing pieces.  Students walked down them"red carpet", read their book using a microphone while their book was displayed under our document camera.  After presenting their book each student received a glow stick medal and strutted back down the "red carpet". Audience members enjoyed a cupcake while listening to their fellow authors.

No red carpet event is complete without an "after party".  We had a glow party afterwards to celebrate our hard work!
