Thank you for checking out our classroom website! My name is Leisha Chapman and I teach first grade at Douglas Elementary School. I grew up in Fitchburg, which is right outside of Madison. After graduating from Oregon high school, I went to UW-Whitewater to obtain my teaching degree. I graduated in 2007 with a degree in Elementary Education. I student taught at Douglas and taught Summer School before being hired in the district. I am so excited to be teaching in Watertown. My favorite thing about teaching first grade is watching my students become better writers and readers.
I currently live in Johnson Creek with my husband Chad who works at Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee. We have two energetic boys Jamie who is 4 and Jackson who is 3. We also have a dog named Aspen, and three cats named Oreo, Tigger, and Kit-Kat.
